3+ Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms?

Built before 1897

6 East Park Road is the right half of the 4+6 East Park doublehome, which combined is one of the largest properties on the street. It was built sometime before 1910, as evidence by its presence on the census, but Zillow incorrectly claims it was built in 1920. The home was listed as a "14-unit condo conversion" when a sale was attempted in the 1980s.

1910 census: One section of the house consists of Trolly conductor William, his wife, and his father, and the second consists of Dr. S. Mason and his extended family.

In 1916, Wilhelmina died, and in 1917, Dr. S. Mason died of pneumonia. That same year, William Lewis Rogers, the father of William Arthur, died from internal bleeding. As shown in the census, Mary was already a widow with her children, who were the grandchildren of Samuel Mason and Wilhelmina.

Although she had already moved by 1930, Mary died in 1934 of appendicitis at the Woman's Hospital of Philadelphia. After she moved, the home was inhabited by Dr. Richard Phillips and his wife Lydia. Richard died in 1927 and the family was not present in the home by the 1930 census.

William lived in the home at least as late as 1942, as he lists the "S.W. cor. of Park & Llandaff Road", although he proabably meant Lansdowne, as Park and Llandaff don't intersect until the absolute opposite side end of Park. Although not featured in the 1940 census, Frank M. Longstreth, publisher of the Delaware County Leader, lived at the home then and in 1940, his son went missing for a day, as was reported on in the news.

In 1952, Lois Eubank, who was living at the address, married Charles Lochart. The couple lived at the home for an unclear amount of time afterwards. William Dougherty lived there at the time of his death in 1974. The Goyette family lived in the home for around 2 decades. The home was listed for sale in 1985, but it's unclear if it was sold at that point. The home was sold in 2006 for $295,000 and again in 2020 for $407,000.
